Radhanagar Beach- Havelock (Full Guide, Photos, 2021)

Tucked in Havelock Island, Radhanagar Beach is regarded as the best beach in India. It is a pristine stretch of sand backed by turquoise water and lush forest. Radhanagar Beach is commonly called Beach No. 7 and it looks straight out of the postcard. Times Magazine has awarded it the title of the ‘7th best beach in the world’. Radhanagar Beach is one of the many highlights, not only in Havelock but also in the Andaman Islands.

Elephant beach is a secluded beach with clear blue waters and sugary white sand. Ancient trees cast plenty of shadows and there are some old ones lying around the shore making the beach look more enchanting. Unfortunately, the beach is a fraction of what it used to be, as the shoreline was largely swept away by the 2004 tsunami. The corals here remain one of the best on the island with the reef being close to the shore, making this an excellent spot for snorkeling.

3.Corbyn's Cove Beach

This is the closest beach to Port Blair, a mere 8 km from the City center. The drive to the beach is a stunning visual treat. You will get quite a view of Marina Park, the pristine blue sea lining along the entire route.

Kalapathar beach is situated on one corner of Havelock Island. The beach gets its name from the surrounding village, which is Kalapathar Village, and the black rocks (known as Kalapathar in Hindi) that adorn the coastline here. The trees on the shore have artistic roots exposed due to soil erosion. The beach has rocks with sharp edges, which makes swimming a tough task here.

5.Wandoor Beach

The beach itself is located at a remote place, which had to be reached by driving through lone roads that take you through the forests. The trip to the beach is amazing because you are occasionally greeted by sudden jump of wide blue sea, visible from between the forest canopy.

Swimming:

The Wandoor beach is boasts the largest shoreline in Port Blair, easily stretching up to 15 KMs, which is filled by clena white beach, complimented with fallen tropical trees after the 2004 tsunami, and has clear blue waters that invites you to take a dip.

The water depth is perfectly gradual, which means you can go somewhat far into the water without having to worry about the depth above-neck.

The waves are standard and the water currents are medium, increasing only on full moon, which makes sure your swim is perfect and comfortable.

It is the first gateway up north from the capital city, located between the Middle and South of Andaman. Due to its distance from Port Blair (approximately 100 km), it is a popular one-day trip destination, especially for those who come with limited time on hand.

7.Lakshmanpur Beach

The water here is crystal clear, and deep blue, which adds to the beauty of the beach. But the water currents and waves here are moderately high, making it unsafe for swimming and water sports if you are a beginner. Most of the time, you won’t see anyone going into the sea for a swim.

One of the most spectacular things about the beach is its shape. The beach is triangular in shape, which can be made out from the aerial view and offers a wide view of the complete horizon when you stand at the tip.

The sand covering its wide-area is both deep and free of any shells or dead corals for most parts, which makes walking on it a heavenly feeling for your legs. You might wanna keep your slippers aside for this one.
